Fine Art

About.
Dawn grew up on the Canadian prairie surrounded by big skies, northern waters, and endless grasslands. She holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Saskatchewan and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Calgary with majors in painting and drawing.
She has continued to explore the creative process through workshops and studies including the Kenderdine Campus, Emma Lake Artist’s Workshop in Saskatchewan, the Leighton Art Center in Alberta, the CSPWC Jasper Symposium, the Alberta College of Art and Design in Calgary, Alberta,“Arts by the Lake” at the Georgian College of Art, in Ontario as well as various art programs in Arizona and online. Through travels in North America and abroad, she has experienced a wide range of cultural and institutional art. She believes visual art is a universal language, which reinforces our common human experience.
After three decades of art making it has become clear that for an artist there is no obvious career path. Each artist has to chart their own course. Painting is physically and emotionally demanding with many challenges along the way. The creative process intensifies ones powers of observation and inspires the artistic spirit to explore. For this Dawn is grateful.
